Dr. Kearney works with patients across the full spectrum of activity from elite athletes to people dealing with long-standing joint and musculoskeletal issues that limits their daily life.
He served as Medical Officer for Team Ireland at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, with responsibility for Athletics, and works as a Sports & Exercise Medicine Consultant with the DP World (European) Tour Golf. He is also part of the medical team for the 2027 Ryder Cup at Adare Manor.
He has worked as team physician at the top level across a number of sports including GAA and Soccer, and has supported individual athletes across a range of disciplines at national and international level. Alongside his clinical work, Ronan has contributed to research in musculoskeletal medicine and sports science. Staying close to the evidence matters in a field that moves quickly, and that same evidence-based thinking informs every consultation.

Approach
Ronan’s approach starts with getting to the right diagnosis and building a plan from there. That means a thorough clinical assessment, review of investigations including imaging, and a clear conversation about the management options.
He is trained in the full range of ultrasound-guided musculoskeletal injections including corticosteroid, hyaluronic acid, platelet rich plasma and others but injection is one tool among many. Rehabilitation planning, education on what can help and hinder, and a structured return to activity are just as important, often more so.
The aim in every consultation is to give patients a clear picture of the issue and a realistic path forward.
